Breakfast with His Best Friend

Becca invited Peyton and I over today for a breakfast of pancakes and fruit (and coffee for us grown ups).  :0)  Then Becca and I had some adult conversations while the kiddos played, then I left without Peyton to go to the dentist for a cleaning and for them to look at a filling of a tooth that needs crowning.  I am so glad that Becca offered for Peyton to stay because the dentist office is no fun for Peyton.  Well no fun for me either especially since I am returning in two weeks for a fitting of a crown and two weeks later to put in the crown.   (ugh)   I rather go to my OBGYN anytime over the dentist!  :)  So after my appointment, Kevin and I swung back over to pick Peyton up then grocery shopping for our big camping trip coming up next week.   Logan was sad to see me.  He knew it was time for Peyton to leave and he wasn't for that!  Sweet boy!  I love that they love each other so much.  It melts my heart!!

The Best Ice Cream EVER

After dinner we went on a family bike ride.  I love that Peyton is riding his own bike now!  But it is so sad that he really starting to not need us as much anymore.  (*sniff *sniff).  Of course, we just HAD to ride towards the "ice cream bar", but we stopped over by A Sweet Life Bakery instead of our usually store.  A Sweet Life has yogurt that you can top with all kinds of cool stuff.  Well Peyton was ecstatic about that! He topped it off with Reese's, Gummy Bears, Sprinkles and strawberries.  While we were enjoying our yummy snack Peyton says "This is the best ice cream ever!).  :)  I think we may be going back!!

Peyton and Maddie

Tonight we went to Grammy and Grand Dad's house for dinner after the Saint's win!  Now that Maddie is walking, Peyton has more in common with her.  They seem to be everywhere together.  Cute!

Alligator Festival

Today we went with Mimi and Pawpaw to the Alligator Festival in Luling.  It was a nice little festival even though today was a little hot.  Peyton ate everything we put in front of him.  He ate alligator sausage, crab cake, potato salad, crab stuffing and alligator hamburger.  Now if I was to put that in front of him at home, he would not touch it!  Huh, oh well.  Just shows that my little guy is a festival lover and we couldn't be happier with that.  :)

So...At the Crack of Dawn

Peyton woke up.    Excited to ride his bike.  Couldn't wait!!!  I could have though.  It's early for goodness sakes.  Ha!  I got out of bed to find Peyton already with his helmet and bike gear on.  I think it was 7:05 a.m.  Then Kevin leaves and the begging of "please, please, please" began.  So before my breakfast, coffee and let me just say.....applying deodorant, I was on my bike riding all around Lakeview.  We returned at 9:30.  A good hour and a half of bike riding.  I had fun though.  But boy was that early!!!  And afterward before heading in, of course, we had to hit some puddles.  Still do not see what the pleasure of this is, but then again, I'm not a boy...so maybe I don't understand!  :)

Peyton's Very First REAL Bike

Okay, so Peyton started using the peddles on his tricycle just a couple of months ago.  This boy always felt that using his feet got him where he needed to go much faster.  So we held off buying a "real" bike because of him doing that.  Now that he is actually using his feet in the right way, I was considering buying Peyton a nice bike for Christmas.  Peyton's Grammy called me one morning excited that she found a nice, barely used Huffy bike for only $5.00 at an estate sale and wanted to know if I wanted it.  I said sure, get it.  However, when I first looked at it, it was a much smaller bike than what I was planning on getting.  Peyton has been growing like a weed and I knew by just looking at it that he would outgrow the bike in six months.   AND we didn't know whether we should give it to him now since he was going to get a new bike for Christmas.  So Grammy kept the bike.  But Grammy came over today and after some talking (and finding out that after two weeks she still had the bike in her truck) we decided to go ahead and give Peyton the bike since we are going camping in two weeks and Peyton could really use it.  When we pulled the bike out of Grammy trunk, the look on Peyton's face was priceless!!!!   He was so excited.  I was planning for Daddy to put on the training wheels but Peyton (after minutes of begging) talked me into doing it.  And I did with no problem.....but I couldn't find anything to pump up the tires with, so Peyton (after a lot of explaining) had to wait for Daddy to come home to do that little task.  Peyton almost patiently waited (ha!) but as soon as Daddy walked into the door, Peyton begged (again) for the tires to be fixed.  I decided to go ahead and eat while Daddy was doing that because I just KNEW that Peyton wouldn't wait any longer to go out front to ride his bike.   He was so excited!  Did I mention that?  Peyton is getting so big on me and it breaks my heart.  I am missing  the baby in him but........I am so loving the big boy stage!   :) So anyway, around and around.....and around we traveled the neighborhood until Daddy saved me!  Then Daddy took him around and around.  My big boy got really fast on the bike and I think that I may have to drag my bike out to keep up for now on!   He rode that bike for four, yes four hours straight.  We had to talk him to going to bed.  After agreeing (finally), he tells his Daddy that he will sleep for a little while then he wanted to ride his bike again in the dark.  This kid is so funny!!!!!   :)  Thanks Grammy for the wonderful gift!  Peyton L.O.V.E.S. it!!!  Here are some pictures!

Friends and Me

Today is Show and Tell day.  I have to admit....Show and Tell is not an easy task.  I totally forgot last week from the nervousness of how Peyton was going to react on his second day of school since he then knew what it was all about.   I would have forgotten this week if Kevin wouldn't have reminded me last night.  One day I will get in the swing of things with this school stuff!  :)  But trying to come up with something that fits the topic of the week is so hard.  We decided on a picture and Peyton chose (of course) his best friend Logan.

Back at the Park

Peyton and I met Becca, Logan and Brenna at Lafreniere Park.  We made sure to bring some bread for the ducks this time.   We feed all kinds of wild life today.  We got to see ducks, rabbits, squirrels, and chickens!  We had a great time today just hanging out in the beautiful weather.
