Spooky Halloween Night

Halloween Night was a blast for us!  This had to be the best Halloween ever!  Peyton had his Pirate costume on and his Pirate wagon all decked out and ready to fill with candy.  We started the night by heading over to the Methodist Church right next to our house for a Trunk and Treat.  That was so great!    At first Peyton was leary about taking candy from people, but he soon caught on and then we had to explain to him that he could only take a couple pieces of candy at a time.  (He kept going back to the same person for more)  :)  Afterwards, we walked over to Argonne Street where there was a huge block Halloween party.   Peyton had the best time pulling his wagon to each door and throwing candy into his wagon.  (I think I must have gotten 100 compliments from different people about Peyton's Pirate Halloween wagon!)   The best part about the wagon was that it kept me from having to carry all of his candy.   It was close to 9:00 p.m. before we decided we better head home for it was getting close to past Peyton's bed time.  I swear,  Pey would stay out there all night if we would have let him.  He loved it!

When we returned home, Daddy, Peyton and I was sitting on the floor around all the Halloween candy and treats claiming what was ours and snacking at the same time.   It was quite a sight, I tell you!  :)  What a great Halloween this was...and I can't wait till next year!

Trick or Treat Party at Heather and Chloe's

Today Peyton and I went to a Halloween party hosted by Heather and Chloe.  The kids had a blast...especially since it was a beautiful day to be outside to trick or treat all the goodies brought by all the moms.  Heather lined all the treats along the fence and let the kids have fun picking and choosing what they wanted in their goodie bags.  What a wonderful and great idea!   Oh, and the kid's costumes were so cute!  They all looked adorable!  Thanks Heather and Chloe for a wonderful Halloween morning.

Boo at the Zoo

This year we tried the Boo at the Zoo event.  I think this will become one of my family Halloween traditions.  It was a great event!  There was fun stuff for kids of all ages and entertainment and candy galore.  :)  I think we are going to do the two hour  instead of four hours next year until Peyton gets a little older.  Majority of the stuff was for older kids, but there was plenty of stuff to do for Peyton's age group.   We kind of missed two hours of tonight events because the Saints game ran a little longer than we hoped (oops but at least they WON).  Doesn't matter, because we had a good hour and a half of fun activities, so I think Peyton had a great time even though it was short.  I look forward to next year!

New Orleans Halloween Parade

Leave it to New Orleans to come up with a new type of parade......a Halloween Parade.  I didn't even know that there was such a thing until Kevin's friend asked if we were going out there because he was riding this year.  At first I was thinking that this was probably going to be a lame little parade, but it was actually quite grand. I am glad we went!  It was a blast!!

Peyton had a great time! And he loved having his beads around his neck and watching all the floats, costumes, and lights. He was ready to go in his cute little pirate costume!

Fun Filled Friday

I am so exhausted from walking too much and hungry, but today was a great day.  Peyton and I decided to get out of the house!  My poor baby....because of my miscarriage we haven't been doing much since I have been taking it easy as my doctor suggested. So...we have been missing a lot of playdates and outings....and Peyton has been so good about it.  But I can tell he was getting cabin fever, so today I decided for us to take a trip to the mall to go see the Halloween train and do some Christmas shopping while I was there.

Peyton fell  asleep when we first got to the mall, so he made it easy for me to scout the toy stores and other stores such as Potterybarn that require little hands not to touch!  :)

After about an hour, Peyton woke up so we headed to the Food Court.  I was a good girl and got a Greek salad and baked chicken and Peyton had chicken nuggets and waffle fries.  Peyton was such a big boy sitting in a chair across from me eating his lunch.  I am amazed about how grown up he is getting!  As Peyton and I were eating, I noticed a dad and his son about 7 years old sitting next to us.  This little boy was  talking and talking away to his dad about things that happened in school, about his friends and what he wanted for Christmas.  I smiled to myself thinking  that one day Peyton and I will be having those conversations.  And even though OUR conversation during lunch today was limited to all the wheels "wee wees"  going by, and choo choo sounds, and a lot of other gibberish talk that I sometimes didn't understand, I wouldn't trade that conversation to anything in the world.  It was a special time with my boy and I loved it.

After shopping all day, I let Peyton pick out a toy for being such a good boy and letting Mommy do some Christmas shopping without any complaints.....and Mommy treated herself to a Starbuck's coffee.  :)

Today was a great day!!

Who Dat!!!

Today was a remarkable day.  The Saints beat the Giants 48-27!!!  This had to be the most exciting game since Hurricane Katrina. I haven't seen the Saints fans this roudy in a very long time.  The Saints played unbelieveably well making them 5-0.   It was wonderful seeing everyone full of game spirit, dancing and clapping and just having the best time ever.  We are so proud of our Saints!!  :)

We started the day dropping Peyton off at Grammy and Grand Dad's house, then we headed over to Karen and Russ's house for some brunch and champagne.   After getting really toasty, we walked to the dome, with a nice strong bloody Mary.  Then that is when the real excitement began!!  :)  After the game, we headed over to the BBQ Festival and picked up dinner to bring back to Grammy's and Grand Dad's house.    Peyton was having so much fun, he didn't want to go home.  He is so happy no matter where he is.  Which is great for us.  Then we can have a fun, guilt-free time!
