Susan G. Komen Race

This morning Kevin and Peyton did a race in the Susan G Komen's Race for a Cure.  I do not know how Kevin talked Peyton into doing this.  Maybe it was getting the award in the end, but he was all for doing it.  Well, until he got in line to race.  He looked upset to me, but Kevin kept saying that it was just the sun in his eyes.       I beg to differ because I know my son is never good in new situations. He was nervous about the unknown but too proud to say otherwise.  But he did it and ran the whole race. Kevin and I was so proud....well that proud feeling quickly turned into fear when we realized that the finish line was further down the street than we thought.  And all those kids running made it hard to get to Peyton.  By the time Kevin reached the end, Peyton was gone.  Of course Kevin panicked and I panicked but I kept telling myself that we would find him.  But that sick feeling was there until we did.  After a couple minutes of searching we heard from the stage that "Peyton is looking for his lost Mommy."  So Kevin and I ran to the stage to see a very scared and upset little boy searching the crowded for us.  The relief on his face when he saw Kevin was priceless.  We felt so bad for losing him, but it all was forgotten when we made a big deal about his certificate and his medal!

We are proud of you Peyton!  You did a great job my sweetie!
