Memorial Day

Memorial Day was pretty low key.   Peyton's Nanny decided to have a little get together and some pool fun for all the kids after filling up on pizza and hot dogs!  :)  We had 5 boys and 1 girl.  This is unusual because most of time there are more girls than boys.  Despite the bad weather the kiddos had fun playing in the pool all afternoon.  And after Kevin got off of work, he joined us for a little while until the weather got bad again!!

Greek Festival

Today Kevin, Peyton and I met up with Angela and the guy she is dating, Mike at the Greek Festival.   Our choices of food this time was excellent.  I love Greek food!!!  After hanging out for a while and listening to Greek music, we headed over to the kids area to let Peyton burn off some sugar from the pastries.  :)  Peyton, of course had a BLAST even though it cost 5 dollars for him to jump!  But it was worth every penny because Peyton enjoyed it so much.  It took some sweet talking and bribing to get him to agree to go home  :)

Booty Splash

Today was a very hot day so Daddy pulled out the swimming pool  for a refreshing dip!  :)  Peyton kept doing the "1 2 3 Booty splash" by landing on his rear so that the water would splash everywhere!!

Boys Night Out

Tonight was boys night out since Mommy, Nanny and some friends went to see the second movie of Sex and the City.  So since Mommy had the night off, the boys went to Chucky E. Cheese for some pizza and fun!  It was time away well needed for all of us!  I couldn't wait to spend some time away from the house to eat sushi with my good friend Kim and to meet up with everyone to see a movie we all be waiting to see for a year now.  :)  And the best part was that my boys got to spend some quality time together alone!!

Some Cute Things I Don't Want to Forget

Some cute words:

 Lizards are called "Wizards"

Bathroom is known as "baf room"

He loves to call his daddy "Keeeeee vin"  (like mommy)

Chocolate milk is called "chok it milk"

Peyton's favorite songs that I hear him singing as he plays:

"Shake your booooooby"

"Round and round a circle can be found"

"London Bridge"

"BINGO"

"Farmer in the Dell"

"Wheels on the Bus"

"Pop Goes the Weezie"

Some cute conversations:

Peyton walks into my room this morning and asks

"Mommy, where's my yellow van?"

"I don't know honey, did you look downstairs?" I respond

He disappears and returns a minute later with a huge beautiful smile on his face and says "Found it!!"

Peyton and Kevin was playing downstairs and all of a sudden I hear Peyton crying.

Peyton comes running up to me

"What happened?"  I asked

" I fall down" Peytons cries

"Are you okay?"

"I okay" he says through big fat tears.

Walking in on Peyton at the bathroom sink

"What are you doing?" I ask

"Washing my boo boo."

"Washing your boo boo?" I ask

"To make it feel better". Oh, my honey, when did you grow up on me??!!

Swimming with Mimi

After the Boogaloo Festival we headed over to Mimi and Pawpaw's house to drop Peyton off for the night.  It always has been hard for me to leave Peyton for the night.  I miss him so much when he is gone, but I understand that sometimes we need the time apart for his sake as well as mine.  And....Peyton was so excited to see his Mimi and Pawpaw and was especially excited when he saw the pool waiting for him.  Poor thing was still so hot from the the festival and jumped right in with his Mimi.   We hung around for a little while to watch some water play then headed out.  Kevin and I were invited to a late wedding reception of a good friend and when we got to the reception I was really, really tired but  Kevin and I had a great time.  I was nice to kick back, drink wine and enjoy good company kid free!   : )

Bayou Boogaloo Fest

Kevin, Peyton and I decided to go to the Bayou Boogaloo Fest.  It has potential.  Everything is spread out a little too much and it was hot, hot, hot day.  Which kind of made the festival not too enjoyable.  Peyton an hour later whined to me that he was hot and to go bye bye...and if he tells me he wants to leave, then it really is a miserable situation.  But I did enjoy the crafts!  I bought me a signed 8x10 2010 World Champion picture of the Saints from a New Orleans's artist.  :)  I would like to try this festival again next year.  Hopefully it won't be in the records high for heat like today.

Cooling His Fever

Ever since Peyton has been born, Daddy has given him his baths.  I guess that has always been their bonding time.  Tonight since Kevin is out playing volleyball, I thought it would be nice to have some 'bathtime' pictures.   I really don't have too many of those type of pictures!!  I could take pictures when Kevin baths Peyton but the bathroom is way too small to fit three people, so tonight was a good night as any since I am on duty.  :)

Peyton is acting a little better from his chest cold even though his cough still sounds terrible.  He still gets a fever off and on too.  After dinner tonight he felt feverish again so I brought him earlier than usual for a cool bath.  Peyton (most of the time) loves his bath time and no matter how bad he is feeling, he loves his water playtime.  And.....I love that big, beautiful smile of his and miss it when he does not feel well!!  It was nice seeing it tonight!!

Under the Weather

The last couple of days Peyton had a cough.  I knew something was coming on because Peyton rarely coughs.  We catch a head cold once in a while but this sounded like a chest cold coming on.  Sure enough he woke up this morning with a fever so we headed down to Rite-Aid to stock up on Vicks rub, tissues, Hyland's Sniffles 'n Sneezes, Children's Advil and Vicks Vapo Steam.   After giving Peyton some relief, we hung around watching TV all day in bed.  We were suppose to meet friends at the Monkey Room today but decided to keep Peyton away from others.  It was going to be just a hang out day which led me to practice a little with my new 35mm lense.  I even got a little smile from Peyton when we took a picture together.  I hope my baby feels better soon!!  Meanwhile I am  going to dose up on Airborne to try not to get sick myself.

Pierce's 1st Beach Bach Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Pierce's 1st Birthday party.  It was a blast!  There were pools,  sprinklers, a sand box, cup cakes and plenty of fun activities for the kids.  Peyton didn't want to leave.  He fell in love with Graham's Little Tikes car and I had to pry his little fingers from it practically!  :)  Happy Birthday Pierce!!

Gracie's 2nd Birthday Party

Today Peyton, Kevin and I were invited to Gracie's 2nd Birthday Party at Lafreniere Park.  We had pizza and cake, had playground fun and rode the merry-go-round as much as we wanted.   We love birthday parties, especially at Lafreniere Park!  :)  At the end of the party it started to rain and of course our little guy had to get wet first before we headed home.   Happy 2nd Birthday Gracie!!!

So Long Ago

It seems like yesterday that I was the one sitting on my Dad's lap riding the lawnmover around and around in the back yard.  How funny and kind of weird to see my son doing the exact same thing I did with my dad.  Peyton being a little younger than I was in the picture was a little afraid at first but started to like his little ride with my dad.  But once he was off, he decided he didn't want back on again!  That's okay because before long he will be begging my Dad to take it out of the shed so they can go riding just like I did soooo long ago. Boy, how time flies!!

More Zoo Fun

Today we decided to take advantage again of our zoo membership and met Mimi and Pawpaw.  Man, Peyton and I LOVE the zoo.  It was rather a warm day but we had breaks with the sun due to it being partly cloudy so it wasn't all that bad.  And the zoo was almost empty except for group field trips.  We brought our food and had a nice picnic under a big oak tree, then we looked for the animals that we didn't catch last trip there and then headed over to Monkey Hill to let Peyton play in the water and run up and down the hill.  Peyton had a blast (as usual) and we ended the day with snowballs and a couple of rides on the merry-go-round.  Someone was pretty exhausted after our day at the zoo and fell asleep before we reached the car to go home!  :)
