Little Black Creek Family Camping

We just returned from a family camping trip to Little Black Creek. The weather was so nice! We enjoyed 4 days off swimming, taking walks, watching sunsets, barbecuing, playing games, fishing, bike riding and just hanging out. Peyton came back with more bug bites than I was hoping for, scrapes and scratches from playing so hard and a continuing early morning rise which I am hoping to change ......but I am so looking forward to doing this again next year!
.........
Peyton had the best time hanging out with his Pawpaw, which he calls "Papa". Everywhere "Papa" went Peyton was. Peyton loved his daily walks with his "Papa" and even pulled his pants to head outside when it was dark and time for bed. My dad the first time went to the door pulling it and groaned saying "it's stuck". And the "it's stuck" stuck with Peyton because everything that didn't go the way Peyton wanted he would say with a groan "tis stuck Papa, tis stuck!" So so cute! Peyton had us all laughing! :)

Down Memory Lane 2 - Half Naked?

I swear, I love these old pictures. I just HAD to scan them all because most of them are turning yellow and fading with age and I wanted a copy of them before they got too bad. I also want Peyton to be able to enjoy them as well. So there will be alot of Down Memory Lane posts!

And......yeap, that's me in the pictures below. I find it hard to believe that back when, in the 70's and earlier they thought nothing of letting their kids run around IN THE FRONT YARD with just their undies on! And had the nerve to take pictures of that as well!!! HA! :) I guess the worry of pedifiles was at the low back then. I still ask my mom what was she thinking! She will say... "What? We didn't know any better!" But then one day she asked me why don't I just let Peyton run around with a diaper on. No thanks! I guess I can understand back when when there were no automatic washing machines and dryers. But at today's date.....I have no problem washing clothes! :)

So......one day my mom gave me an old picture to scan of her and my Aunts when they were little. When I saw it I had to laugh. Did this family not believe in clothing their kids? :) How funny is that?! Check out the LAST picture!

My mom and her sisters. A family of just undies!!!

Down Memory Lane - Pucker Up

I have to say, I sure do agree that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Peyton may look like his daddy, but I think this little one posseses alot of my personality. Puckering his lips when not quite happy is something he has done since he was 8 months old. My mom would laugh and say, "you use to do that all the time when you were a baby". Really? Then she brought me a picture of one of the times they caught me. Well, I'll be! I guess he really did get a lot more from me than my blue eyes! :) Now......is that a good thing? HA!

Playdate at Heather & Chloe's

Today we spend this beautiful morning at Heather and Chloe's house for a playdate. Heather had quite a little feast for us with delicious sandwiches, sweet potato fries, chicken nuggets, fruit, little cakes, apple juice and cokes for the moms. :) Peyton is fast asleep now from playing so hard. Thanks Heather and Chloe for a great morning of fun!!

Playdate at Betsy and Gabriella's

Today we were invited to Gabriella's house for a playdate. Peyton LOVED Gabriella's gigantic dog Gus! I think Gus was the hit of the playdate....well to most kiddo anyway. Peyton kept following Gus around to each side of the room wanting to pet him. And Gus is such a sweet dog. Peyton also enjoyed Gabriella's kitchen set. He loved opening and closing the doors taking dishes in and out. Thanks Betsy and Gabriella for a great playdate morning!!

Practice Photo Shoot

I am learning the manual modes on my Nikon and dying to practice! So...... I asked my sister, Angela, if she was willing to model for me for a practice shoot at City Park. She said she would be happy too! (Peyton is getting a little hard these days to keep still long enough to get a good portrait shot.) HA! And Angie was the PERFECT model! :) We had a great time changing outfits and shooting different poses. I still have a lot to learn, but I don't think I did so bad for my first time! I am pretty excited and eager to learn more! Angela and I decided that we want to do it again. So....I am going to see about looking for more great spots around City Park. And Angie said she will look into getting more cute outfits!! :) By reviewing the 165 pictures taken, I am learning the dos and don'ts of photography. It is amazing what you can learn just by the pictures themselves. I have been told by two professional photographers who I admire very much to practice, practice, practice by shooting everyday! Which I have been doing.

Here are our favorite shots:

It's Saints Time!!

Tonight kicks off football season.....and the Saints won their first pre-season game against the Cincinnati Bengals!! But even though they won, they still need a lot of work to do before the first game that really counts! We have confidence in our team though!! Go Saints!

We had a great time tonight! Even though I was feeling like crap from a head cold. :( At the end of the third quarter, we went down to the Plaza area where my sister, Angie and her friend Diego were sitting. They told us by text that there were two empty seats. So down we went. Man, in the Plaza area the Saints were so close it felt like I could just walk down a few steps and actually touch them! :) At that point I wished I brought my Nikon. I could have taken some cool pictures. But I only had my point and shoot and they are crappy pictures, but they sure do show how much fun we had!!!

Rock -n- Bowl MNO

My group (Melissa, Jaala, me and Michelle)

Tonight all the moms got together for some bowling fun. Boy, was it really nice to get out and relax and have some girl time. Considering that I have not bowled since I was a teenager (so so long ago) :), I didn't do half bad. Now I am excited to go back. Maybe I will bring Kevin this time. HA! .......And next time I will have to bring my Nikon. I just brought my point and shoot tonight because I didn't know what the set up was going to be like. Didn't want to leave me camera sitting unattended! :-0

A Rite-Aid Bargain

So I am walking down Rite-Aid summer stuff department a couple of weeks ago and came across this pool for $39.00. I saw these same type of pools at Toys-R-Us and they was asking $50.00 for them. A $10.00 savings! So when I got home I told Kevin that I wanted this pool for my swimming playdates. And I had to thrown in that it would be great for when Kevin and I want to do a little water play with Peyton. So Kevin agreed and I went back to Rite-Aid a couple of days later....hoping that they still had some left. And they had three left!!! AND there was a coupon sitting next to it for an additional $10.00 off. So I got this roomy pool for $30.00! We decided to pull it out today for a nice little outside playtime which was cut really short due to a huge thunder storm heading our way. So maybe next weekend we can try again! :)

Frances' 1st Birthday Party

Today Peyton and I was invited to Ms. Frances' 1st Birthday party. So cute with her little lady bug theme!!! She was so adorable during the party, playing up a storm then looking all confused as heck wondering why people were flashing cameras and singing to her. Then when the cake was placed in front of her, the look of "don't want that" was so funny. Little Frances didn't want anything to do with it no matter how much her mommy, Mary, tried to get her to taste. So cute!!! Thanks Mary and Birthday Girl, Frances, for a wonderful party.

What's Daddy doing?
What's going on?
I'm not sure about all of this!! ***********(look at those long lashes, so jealous) :)
Ummmm!
Okay, not liking!!
