The Kid's First Hibachi Experience

About a month ago, a group of my friends went to a Hibachi Bar and it was such a fun time.   I knew that this was something exactly Peyton would enjoy since he has some interest in cooking.  So tonight we decided to try the experience with the kids.  Peyton, as I expected, enjoyed it even though we had some convincing for him to order food to cook on the Hibachi grill instead of sushi (that's my boy).  And I can tell he was thrilled, especially with the throwing food in your mouth (mommy missed).  Emma on the other hand, was not thrilled.  You could tell from the first picture that I took with the look on her face that she was not liking all of the fire, smoke, equipment throwing, and food throwing.

And from this point, she was out of her seat and into my lap, saying every 10 minutes "Mommy, I want to go home."   "Mommy, I'm scared!"    Poor honey.   But I kept the camera out and caught my guys enjoying themselves.
So other than Emma freaking out, it was a lovely dinner and very good!  When the chef "Ozzy" packed up and headed to another grill, Emma loosened up a little and even decided to take a bite or two.
Definitely so much fun and want to do again really soon....but for right now, without Emma.

Cousin Time

Angie went to Costco, so I had to chance to see these little babes again.  Emma loves having her cousins over, even though she can become a little bossy with Aiden.   Sometimes I do not know whether to laugh or fuss at her.  Aiden (at this point) do not seem to mind but I see that changing in the near future since he is approaching the stormy part of toddlerhood as well.  That should be interesting to see!  :)   Aiden really loved Emma's little wagon.  He pulled it all over the yard, picking up toys to throw in along the way around.  It was very cute watching him.  And it gave me a great gift idea for Christmas.  I love these kids!

Checking out Bogue Chitto State Park

I think everyone is getting burned out of Percy Quinn State Park (except for Dinner Bell), so we all decided to check out Bogue Chitto.  Mom and Dad is staying a week, but Angela and I drove our families out there for the day to check things out.  I believe we have a winner.  There is a splash park, beachy area, plenty of wildlife, lots of places to bike and picnic, canoeing and more!  We are excited and looking to camp there during Jazz Fest when Peyton has extra days off of school!

Field Trip to the Sculpture Garden

Emma had a great day playing with Brenna while I headed over to Peyton's school to help out with the 2nd Grade field trip!  The weather was wonderful being sunny and cool!   I had so much fun with my little guy!
