More Zoo Fun

Today we decided to take advantage again of our zoo membership and met Mimi and Pawpaw.  Man, Peyton and I LOVE the zoo.  It was rather a warm day but we had breaks with the sun due to it being partly cloudy so it wasn't all that bad.  And the zoo was almost empty except for group field trips.  We brought our food and had a nice picnic under a big oak tree, then we looked for the animals that we didn't catch last trip there and then headed over to Monkey Hill to let Peyton play in the water and run up and down the hill.  Peyton had a blast (as usual) and we ended the day with snowballs and a couple of rides on the merry-go-round.  Someone was pretty exhausted after our day at the zoo and fell asleep before we reached the car to go home!  :)

Mother's Day

Mother's Day evening we went by the family's house to have Dad's hamburgers, which is another  favorite of his dishes!  Kevin and my little guy spoiled me this Mother's Day.  I got another editing program that I had my eye on since I found out about it but didn't think I would get it because it is way too expensive.  But I got it!!  And Peyton's beautifully designed picture frame that I can't wait to hang somewhere.  It was a wonderful night with all my boys including my 'firstborn' puppy Zack.  He was apart of the action too!  :)

Dearest Peyton,

We are spending our third Mother's Day together and I want to tell you how very lucky I am to able to call myself your Mommy.   You are such a blessing and you bring me so much happiness each and every day. I could be having the worse day and your smile and laughter seems to make it all better.  You taught me so much and I owe it to you that I am the person that I am today.  I never knew that I could ever love the word Mommy so, so much until I heard you call me that for the first time.  I love you my little guy!!  You are my world!

Love your Mommy

Mother's Day Bicycle Outing

What a beautiful day for Mother's Day!!  The weather was sunny and cool so we decided to take a Sunday bicycle stroll down to Subway to eat lunch then head out by the Lake.  We stopped by a playground to let Peyton out to run around, then we stopped again over out by the Lake's shore to watch the waves, boats and feed the birds. Peyton, Kevin and I had the best day!!

Body Art

Ever since the Easter Bunny brought Peyton markers he has been in love with them.  The problem?  He loved to draw all over himself and those particular markers made it was a heck of a time getting it off of his skin.  I felt bad for fussing at him for writing on himself because what could be more fun to a kid??  So I decided to go to Toys R Us and get him some washable markers.  I stripped him down and told him to draw pictures on his legs and stomach.  Did he have a great time with that!!  And when he was finished, baby wipes did the trick to wash everything away.  Who ever invented washable markers is a genius!!  :)

Pictures with Maddie

Here are some pictures of everyone with Maddie. Cute little booger!!  Peyton did okay with her.  At first he ignored her, then he had to check out what all the fuss was about.  I had to watch constantly that he didn't steal her nunu, bounce her out of the bouncy chair and things like that....but overall he did pretty good.  I think he may be ready for a sibling now!  :)

Mommy's Birthday

My birthday was really, really nice.  We had Dawn, Brian and Maddie down for a visit and I had my favorite, Dad's BQ Shrimp!!  For my birthday I got a 35mm lense, a new fast memory card, a new Lowepro Camera bag and much more!   I want to thank my family for a wonderful birthday night and for all the wonderful gifts!!

Peyton was excited to see a "Happy Cake" again, and so excited that he wouldn't let everyone get through the Happy Birthday Song before he blew out my candle.  HA!  We tried like three times and finally gave up.  Peyton made my birthday wish for me....and that's okay by me!

Nanny Meets us for Birthday Lunch

After the Aquarium we went outside by the River and fed Peyton some cheese and crackers then let him run around chasing the birds for about 30 minutes.  We decided that we were going to have lunch at Dragos!!  I love this place and their food is really good.  My favorite is the lobster there!  But I was in an oyster mood!  HA! So, we called my sister to come join us for some yummy grilled oysters and Bloody Marys.  :)   While we were waiting for Angela to arrive, I could see that Peyton was wearing down so I encouraged him to sit in his stroller and take a nap.  And you know what??  He did.  So we got to peacefully eat and have an undisturbed adult conversation during lunch!  What a great little gift Peyton gave me!  :)  After lunch, of course, we had to wake Peyton to visit with his Nanny a little bit.

Mommy's Birthday Fun

Kevin asked if I wanted to do something fun as a family for my birthday.  Since we have not been to the Aquarium of the Americas since Peyton was a year old, that was what I decided I wanted to do.  Especially since Peyton is so much into animals now.  When he was a year old he could care less!   We had a great time!  I was a little disappointed that the penguins were lazy today and not swimming around like crazy as they usually are doing but looking at all the beautiful fish was so much fun.  Peyton even got a chance to play in the little play area before he started asking to eat.  Which was fine because Daddy was getting hungry too!!  :)
