An Eye Opening Dream

Every time I see a baby, I reminisce the time when Peyton was that young.  Oh how I miss those days and they were there and gone so fast and now I am watching him become a very handsome, smart little boy.

Last night I had the weirdest dream that I was once again looking at a baby (don't know who's baby) saying (and don't know to who) that I wish Peyton was that young again.  And that person granted my wish and poof, Peyton was a baby.  I remember in my dream I grabbed Peyton and started hugging him and loved holding him as a baby, but then after holding my baby for a while, I started longing for my big boy back.  I was missing something and what I was missing was my boy's beautiful personality.   I no longer wanted him to be a baby but a big boy again. I actually started to grieve.  Then...I woke up.

So I guess my dream made me realize that I should appreciate what I have because even though I loved Peyton as a baby and had so much fun with him, it doesn't compare to how much fun I am having now with his bubbly, sweet, loving, funny, happy personality.   I love his quirky comments, his giggles to actually something he finds really, really funny and our conversations about life (like the other day when he asked where poopy comes from).    I love, love, love this stage of life with my boy and I wouldn't trade that for anything.

Kiss Concert

Kiss was having a free concert in the city, so Kevin and I decided that we would go.  I like Kiss, but really do not know too many of their songs. Kevin obviously is a fan and really wanted to go, so I made the sacrifice.  Everything was going great...until it started raining, then things got really messy.  Thank goodness I had the ponchos that we got from Disney World in the stroller.  They kept us nice and dry while people around us got nice and wet.  Of course no one left.  I guess it was worth catching a cold to see Kiss.  Personally, if  we didn't have the ponchos, I would have wanted to leave.  So thankfully we had them.  After the concert, someone had the bright idea of pumping graffiti.  I guess it is a Kiss thing, but with the rain, it was nothing but a big mess.  Peyton loved it of course!    But pieces of paper stuck to everything.  People looked like they had wads of toilet paper stuck to their shoes as they were leaving the park.  :)

College Basketball Dunk Contest

Tonight Daddy and Peyton went to to the College College Dunk Contest at Tulane University.  At first Peyton put up a fight about going.  He is still giving us problems about going places he is not sure of, but after some convincing (and saying that maybe Daddy will just take Logan instead since Peyton did not want to go) he excitedly got into the car.  Daddy said they had a great time, well until the last hour or so when Peyton just couldn't keep his eyes open any longer and passed out.   Ha!  I see a lot of events like this in the future with my boys!

A Wet Park Day

We decided to go to the park today since we had such a rainy week.  The kids so needed to get some pent up energy out.   After being at the park for a while, we noticed that the kids, way across the field, was having just too much fun in one spot.  Little did we know, until we approached and saw them dirty and soaking wet, what was keeping their attention!  They started playing in the biggest, sloppiest, muddiest and stickiest puddle ever!  They were having a ball!  The people in the covered areas close by were laughing their behinds off.  I am not sure if it was because of what the kids were doing or from the looks on our faces when we saw what they were up too!   :)  Whatever the case, we let the kids continue to play in that stinky water.  I mean, what does a little stinky water hurt!

Our Butterfly Experiment Begins

Peyton explained to me countless times where butterflies come from.  He seemed fascinated with the idea, so when I read from another mom's blog that she did a live butterfly garden with her kids, I had to try it for myself.  I knew Peyton would love it!  Our insect lore came in today, and my fascinating little boy was fascinated as I thought he would be when he saw the caterpillars.  I can't wait for him to see the transformation in person.

Kevin's Birthday BBQ

For Kevin's birthday we had a little BBQ with Angela and Mike at the Lake.  It was such a beautiful day with the weather being so gorgeous!  We also brought out bikes hoping to get some exercise in while we were out there, but the wind made it  hard for Peyton to pedal at times, so he got tired of that rather quickly.  But it was a very nice day to spend by the Lake.  We just hung out and fed the birds. Oh, and  Angela and I even stopped over by the store to buy a Lemon Meringue Pie for the special occasion.  Happy Birthday honey!
 Nanny and Mike acting silly!
Opps!  She wrote Happy Thanksgiving.....  :)   we knew what she meant!
