Pizza for the Family

I could never tell you how we got on the Mark Twain Pizza's mailing list, but for Kevin's birthday and my upcoming birthday they send us a birthday card saying that if we dine in we will get a free pizza.  Well since my boys LOVE pizza, how can I say no to that.  Me....well I am not that big of a pizza person, but I don't mind it once in a while.  So before Kevin's free pizza coupon expired we decided to head over to Mark Twain for dinner tonight.  Of course our little guy was so happy to hear we were having pizza for dinner.  He would eat pizza every night if I let him!  :)  The pizza wasn't bad....so I guess we will going back soon for my free birthday pizza.

Ice Cream

Peyton and I headed over to City Park to get a refreshing ice cream and to feed the ducks.   So I grabbed my little point and shoot and headed out.  Peyton is really getting into feeding animals (other than Zack).  We must have spent almost an hour feeding a beautiful white swan.

And....for the first time I decided to buy Peyton an ice cream cone instead of in a cup.  I just knew he was going to be a big mess in the end, but he actually did pretty well with it.  And he ate the whole thing except for the very last bite.  We had a great afternoon at the park!  :)

Caught!!

Mr. Somebody got really quiet as I was doing the dishes.  After several calls I went looking for him.  Seeing Zack's butt sticking out from behind the bed gave my little man's hiding place away.  I grabbed my point and shoot because I just knew he was up to nothing good.  Caught!!  Eating away at Mommy's low fat cheese puffs.  As you can see from the look on his face.....he knew he was busted!  :)

Too Funny to Forget

A Meow Mix commercial came on and Peyton says "Mommy, a kitty cat."

"Yes Peyton I see the kitty cat."

Peyton then walks over to Zack, throws his arm around him and points to the TV "Look Zack, a kitty cat."

And you know what?......Zack actually looked!

---------------------------------------------------
These days Peyton's favorite words are "no or nope".  Everything is no.  Even when he really means yes.

"Peyton do you want a snack?"

"Nope" he responds as he is climbs into his booster chair.

Peyton officially added "peepee" to his list of naming body parts.

The Little Things

Dearest Peyton,

Has Mommy told you lately how much she loves you?  I think everyday and you are probaby sick of hearing me say it.  You are so turning into such a big boy.  Can you stop please??  Stay a baby a little while longer for Mommy okay?  I still find it hard to believe that we are now having 'conversations'  When did that start??

You are such a happy little guy and such a pleasure to be around.  I am going to miss these special moments when the day comes that I have to walk you to the school bus instead of around the neighborhood.  I am going to miss our talks about trucks, trailors, motorcycles and every boat that you see.  I am going to miss everything we do together.  I so wish time would just slow down, but Mommy has not control over such things.   I am just very lucky that I have the opportunity to spend my days home with you while I can.  I wouldn't trade this job for all the money in the world!

Today you asked me very sweetly to "go for a walk?" How can I say no to that? So I grabbed my little point and shoot camera so that we can have some fun at the neighborhood playground then take a long walk so that you would not have any problems napping today. We walked down Canal all the way to Harrison and all the way back up Canal.  That's a long way!!!   But you loved every step of it...and so did I.

Saying His Name

"What's your name?" I asked

"Green"

"Your name is not green!  Can you say Peyton?"

"Dayton"

"Say pa pa pa....... Pey"

"Pey" Peyton said correctly

"ton" I said

"ton" Peyton repeated

"Peyton"

"Dayton" he said as he ran away laughing.

*sigh*  Well I guess that is better than green!  :)

Paint Makes it All Better

Today Peyton refused to nap.  This does not happen too often but for some reason today, he wanted nothing to do with it.  So, around 3:45 Peyton asked to go outside.  I said okay, go upstairs and get your shoes. I figured that we could have an hour of outside play then back inside to prepare dinner.  So Peyton disappeared upstairs...... but didn't return.  I called from the stairs "Peyton, did you get your shoes so we can go outside?"  Silence....   I called again.....silence.  So I went upstairs to check on him only to find him passed out on his bed.  Really, naptime at 4:00 p.m.???  Crap!!  So, I let him sleep for 45 minutes and then woke him up because I am really not in the mood to fight sleep again tonight.  :)  Needless to say, Peyton was NOT happy that I  woke him and was a little whiny butt and wanted nothing except for me to hold him while I was trying to get dinner in the oven.  Ahhhhhh!!  So the answer to this problem? Let him make a mess of course!  Making a mess always seem to make Peyton happy!!  So I pulled out the paint, placed paper on the table and told him to go for it.  It worked!!  He was entertained for almost an hour and a half playing with hand paint and I actually got dinner ready with no fuss or interuptions.  In the end messy yes, but worth it...yes.  Thank God for the small things that make kids happy!!

Too Funny to Forget

When Zack, our dog, is in trouble we always call him "Zackary".

For two days straight all I heard from Peyton was  "hey Zac wa wee".

----------------------------------------------------------------

Peyton and Daddy sitting on the couch and Peyton ask Daddy "watch Baby Boost?"

Daddy says "No Peyton I am watching Auburn, we can't watch Baby Boost right now"

Peyton says  "No, watch Baby Boost"

Daddy says "No I am watching Auburn"

Peyton whining now "No, Baby Boost"

Daddy  "No Son, I said I am watching the Auburn game.  Hey I smell a poopy.  Go upstairs and get me a diaper."

Peyton says "Noooo, watching Auburn".

French Quarter Fest

Today we met up with Kevin's Mom and Dad at the French Quarter Fest.  This is one of my favorite festivals and the weather was beautiful, but this time I was not feeling too well.  I tried to make the most out of the day and enjoyed the good food, company and watching Peyton have a wonderful time running around and watching the boats go by on the Mississippi River.  I wasn't even in a picture taking mood!  I had to not be feeling well if I didn't take 1000 pictures of the day.  I did, however, catch some cute shots of Peyton playing with Daddy and of our friend Randy who was in the crawfish eating contest.

Easter with Family

We had a wonderful Easter!  Peyton really loved his Easter basket from the Easter Bunny.  He was so excited when he saw what was inside.   Chocolate for breakfast....every kid's dream.  The Easter bunny brought Peyton some new Disney toys, Thomas the Tank Engine stuff, a puppet, markers and a coloring book along with lots of candy.  I think the Easter bunny thought Peyton was a good boy this year!  ;)  After playing with his new  toys and eating lots of chocolate, Peyton's Nanny came over for a visit and playtime.  After that we headed over to Grammy and Grand Dad's house for an Easter egg hunt then dinner.    Oh boy!!!  More chocolate!  :) We all laughed every time Peyton opened an egg and saw the candy he would say "owwwwhhhh".  So funny!  Peyton had been on a sugar high all day and didn't even take much of a nap, but that's okay.  Easter only comes once a year and I am glad that Peyton had such a good time.   Then it was the adults time to enjoy Dad's BQ shrimp and wine!  Yummy!!

Easter Cookies

Easter is finally here and I can't wait to see Peyton's face when he sees what the Easter Bunny brings him tomorrow!  ;-)  He is going to have so much fun.  I wanted to do something 'Easter' tonight so instead of dying eggs, we decided to decorate Easter cookies.  I think we will wait till next year to attempt with dying eggs!  Peyton had a great time tonight decorating cookies then eating them as you can see the evidence of blue icing dripping down his chin.  :)   Messy, yes.....but so worth it.
