Family Time

We decided that it was too darn pretty to stay indoors so we headed over Lafreniere Park.  Kevin said that he hasn't been to Lafreniere Park in years and couldn't remember much about it.    So off we went and we had a pretty good time.  Boy, was it crowded though!  I think everyone had the same idea as we did!  :)

Peyton, of course, had a blast.  Anytime he is outside, he is loving it.  We hit the playgrounds first, then went to feed the ducks, turtles, sea-gulls and every other wildlife out there.  I have to say that the Lafreniere Park wildlife is seriously not starving.  There was bread everywhere and most of the animals were not hungry but Peyton had fun feeding the ones that were!  After that we headed over to the merry-go-round.  Unfortunately the token machine was broken so they were allowing only one ride per person.   And....of course Peyton kept asking by saying "again?" to get back on.   We may have to take him back out there on another beautiful day when he can ride all he wants.   Definitely a lovely day today!!!

The Pizza Shoppe Playdate

This morning we met some of our mommy and kiddos friends at the Pizza Shoppe.  This is actually a cool place because they give the kids raw dough and pizza topping for the kids to decorate their own pizzas, then they take the pizzas and cook them and give them back to eat.  Pretty neat!  They also give kids a cool chef's hat.   I took some really cute pictures of Peyton with his hat on but accidentally erased them!  :(    I definitely would like to do this playdate again.  Peyton being a pizza lover as he is wouldn't object I am sure!

Afterwards we headed over to Mimi's and Pawpaw's house since we have not seen them in almost two weeks.  Peyton was excited to see them and first thing he did was ask for his trucks to play in the back yard.  We had a very nice day

Happy Birthday Chloe

Today we celebrated with Chloe her 2nd birthday at the Bounce Spectrum.   Kevin and I were a little worried at first because the last birthday party that we attended at Bounce Spectrum, Peyton had such a horrible time.  He wanted nothing to do with bouncing and cried and lead me to the door saying bye-bye the whole time.  But over the last couple of months Peyton has been exposed to more bounce houses and I think he decided that they weren't so bad!  :) And he had a blast today at Chloe's party.   Thanks Chloe for inviting us to your party and Happy Birthday sweet girl!
After the party, Kevin and I decided to head over to Bonnebel Playground to let Peyton burn off some of the sugar he consumed happily.  And today is such a beautiful, beautiful day.  How could you be inside?  Of course Peyton had the best time playing with Daddy on the slides.  Mommy was forgotten about this time.  :)  After a while we took a walk to the lake looking at all the birds, trucks, tractors and boats.   Peyton was in little boy heaven.  Ha!   Such a happy little guy.
Monkey see....monkey do!
Not ready to go.  "Sit here Mommy"

Too Funny to Forget

It doesn't matter if Peyton has the same thing on his plate as we have on ours, for some reason he believes that our food taste better.  So after a few bites we tell him that our food is "all gone" and to finish his plate.

Last night as we were about to sit down at the dining table to eat, Peyton saw that I fixed him Pizza Rolls.  If you don't know, my boys LOVE pizza and they usually fight over who gets what piece!  HA!   When Peyton saw what was for dinner he got really excited and said

"Daddy, look pizza.  Daddy, look pizza"   Kevin shared with his excitement over his dinner.

Peyton didn't even ask for bites from our plates because he just knew that our catfish wouldn't taste as good as his pizza rolls.  After we were finished eating, Daddy looked at Peyton and said

"Hey, you didn't share any of your pizza with me"

at that point Peyton looked so seriously at his Daddy, threw his palms up and said

"All gone".  We couldn' stop laughing.

I guess if you snoze you lose Daddy!!!!

Mardi Gras Day

Today is Mardi Gras day so we decided to go catch the Argus and Krew of Jefferson Parades in Metairie.  I love this area because it is family oriented parades.  When we got out there, it was little chilly but other than that it was a sunny day.  Boy, did we have a blast!!  Peyton loved all the tractors, truck and big rigs that rolled  by.  Every time the big rigs blew their horns, Peyton would look at me, laugh and say "bonk, bonk"!  So cute!!  He gave Kevin and I not a minute rest.  He wanted to be out by the floats every second, so Kevin and I took turns taking him over to the floats.  Peyton even waved to the riders to throw him things.  He lasted 4 hours at the parade and we had to actually pull him away telling him it was time to go home.  Last Mardi Gras Peyton didn't want to have anything to do with the parades or the beads.  So you can imagine how much fun Kevin and I had with him this year.  My boy brought home a big bag of stuff animals, swords, spray guns, balls, spears, and other misc stuff.  Thank goodness we have a friend who is riding in the Irish/Italian parade that I can donate it to.  I wouldn't know where to begin to put it all.

And what was really, really nice was seeing mostly all the floats having something Saints on it and playing all the Saints victory songs.  This city is still celebrating!!!  We had so much fun and can't wait until next year.

Valentine's Day

We had a very relaxing, laid back Valentine Day.  I cooked my favorite recipe, Oyster Brie Soup and my sweet husband brought home some beautiful flowers,  Angelo Brocato's cannolis (so yummy) wine and the movie Couples Retreat.  We just wanted to stay home, nice and warm together as a family.  And it was really nice!  No crowds and no waiting forever for a table.  Peyton got from Mommy and Daddy a beautiful card and some cherry filled Hersey kisses which he loved, loved, loved....as you can see with his chocolate covered mouth.  And Peyton gave Mommy a beautiful card and lots of kisses (the real thing, not the chocolate!)

Saints Victory Parade

Tonight we met back at Troy's place to  finish eating up all the delicious foods from the Superbowl party and most of all so that we could experience the Saints Victory Parade.  How crazy was this day???  It took us 2 hours to get to Troy's when it usually takes us 20 minutes or less.  Fans were so excited and it has been a party all day long.  And...it was soooooo cold.  But it was so worth it.  It was wonderful to see in person how happy our boys, the Saints were as they celebrated with the fans.  Coach Payton looked so proud as he showed off the Lombardi trophy.  Tonight was quite an experience, even though Kevin, Peyton and I froze our booties off.   We love our Saints!!!!

Saints Superbowl Victory

The whole city is so excited to announce that the Saints won the Superbowl again the Colts with the score being 31-17!!!!!  What an exciting game....

however, I lost every single picture I took that night.  Booo Hoooo!  Including the picture of Morten Anderson that our group ran into on the way to Bourbon Street.  I am so disgusted with myself!!  :)  But still very happy that our wonderful team are now called WORLD CHAMPIONS!!!

We dropped Peyton over at Grammy and Grand Dad's house then headed to Troy's for a superbowl party  and afterwards we all met up with Angela and her friends and headed to different places downtown to party.  Whew, Kevin and I didn't get home to 4 o'clock in the morning.  What a party this City was having!!!!  This was definitely a night to remember!!!  I am just so sorry that I have not one picture to show for it!  Oh well!

Happy Birthday Avery and August

Today we celebrated Avery and August's 2nd birthday at Gymrompers.  The theme for this party were the Saints!  Which was totally great! It was wonderful seeing all the kids and moms dressed in black and gold ready for the upcoming Super Bowl.  And for lunch pizza was served and you can image how excited my boy was to have pizza.  He ate two hugh slices and kept coming back to take a bit from Daddy's pizza.  Kevin was laughing because after cake and ice cream the kids including Peyton started running all over the place like crazy people.  I guess it was all the sugar!!  :)  Happy 2nd birthday Avery and August!!!

Happy Birthday Grand Dad

Tonight we celebrated Grand Dad's birthday.  We did the steak fondue tonight which is one of favorite things to do on our 4th of July vacations.  After dinner we celebrated with presents and an ice cream birthday cake.  Peyton even helped his Grand Dad blow out the candle.  That was so sweet!!

2 Year Wellness Checkup

Today Peyton had his two year checkup....and surprising to say he was such a good boy through the whole thing.  I braced myself for the morning.  I just knew that it was going to be like the last couple of times with him being overly upset.  I was so stressed out after the appointments.  So I planned ahead and thought to bring a bunch of this trucks and trains hoping to keep him occupied until the doctor was able to see him.  We had a 8:30 appointment so I figure that the wait wouldn't be that long.  Luckily for me, Peyton played happily during the wait and even found a Disney Tow Mater toy truck under the table which excited him.

The doctor came in and for the first time since he was about 6 month old, he looked up and actually smiled at Dr. G.   He let her perform with not too much trouble the hearing and eye test and he even let the doctor draw blood from his finger for the anemia and lead testing.  The doctor told me that he looks great, seems very health and almost off the charts with this height!  Way to go Peyton!  The only time he cried was when they gave him that big bad shot!  :)  But was soon forgotten when they handed him some Thomas stickers!!!
