A Photo Field Trip with the Girls

Today Amy, Andrea, Andie and Amanda (just realized that they are all A names) invited me on a photo field trip to the city.  Yeah!!!!  Of course, I was excited about that!  I love taking pictures and look for any opportunity to do so.  So we headed out to Royal street.  Now you must realize the loyalty to photography that these ladies have because we were all out there in freezing weather!  It was so cold that my fingers were numb and I was regretting not dressing warmer by bringing a hat and gloves.  But we had fun and I would do it all over again.  Andie is a great photographer!  She gave us some good photography tips and settings advice.  I love listening to other photographers to see what makes them as successful as they are.  One day I hope to be just as successful!  The girls did a great job taking pictures. Their pictures were so good.

After our shooting adventure, we headed over to Mona Lisa's for dinner which was nice.  It was especially nice to be away from home, with some girlfriends, relaxing and just having fun.  It was a wonderful evening and I hope to do it again with  them soon.

Saints Going to the Superbowl

How excited we are that for the first time in the Saints history.....we are going to the SUPERBOWL to play the Colts!!!!!!  What a game this was and I am so happy that Kevin and I were there in person, to witness for the first time the union of happiness that this city now has!  I never hugged so many strangers in my life.  All the women were hugging each other in the ladies room.  Boy was it a party in the city afterwards!  It was like Mardi Gras two times over.

The day started off with Troy, Kevin and I eating at Yo Mammas near the Quarter.  We got the very famous Peanut Butter Burgers.  Well, my opinion was that not only did it look disgusting, it tasted disgusting!!!  Peanut Butter does not go on hamburger meat!  Uggggh....    :)  I had to wash it down with some alcohol beverages!  HA!  After eating, we walked around Bourbon Street watching all the crazy Saints fans trash talk the Viking Fans that were out there.  In good spirit though.  Everyone, including the Viking fans were laughing, having fun and drinking.

When the game started, boy, did the Dome rock and roll.  I never heard it so loud!  The fans were ruthless!  The fans wanted a win and that is what they got with overtime and Hartley kicking a field goal making the score 28-31.  Oh my... were the fans excited, and crying, and yelling, and standing and clapping.  This certainly was a day to remember!!!  Go Saints!!!!!!!!!!!

The disgusting peanut butter burgers!

The Quarter was already packed before the game even started!

It's party time!!!

Papa Teaches

Since it going to rain tomorrow and we already hit most of the parks this week, we decided to go visit Mimi and Papa.  I grabbed Peyton's new bike from Grammy so that Papa could teach him how to ride.  Peyton seems to go along with what my dad wants more than anyone else so I thought he would be perfect for the job.  Peyton went along with it and rode for a little while, but then wanted to go play.  There were too many things to get into I guess and riding his bike was keeping him from doing them.  One of the things is playing with the kitty.  This cat loves Peyton as much as he loves her.  Weird....because this cat doesn't like anyone!!

My mom is one of those kind of people that doesn't mind changing a diaper.  Actually, she looks forward to it as a bonding moment with Peyton.  I say go for it!!  :)  After Peyton's diaper change today he walks out with a new outfit on.  So cute!!!  Just in time for picture taking with his Papa!!

Playdate at Nicky and Avery's

Today we got to go over to Nicky and Avery's house for a morning playdate.  It was really nice to get out of the house for a little while because it has been so cold lately and I believe everyone was stuck inside.  Us New Orleans people are not use to freezing weather!!  :)  We like our winters warm.  Ha!

After the playdate Peyton and I headed over to the new playground on Canal Street which is practically across from our street.  Peyton had the whole playground to himself and we played for a long time.  Afterwards, we headed home for a long nap.

Peyton's 2nd Birthday Party at The Monkey Room

We had a blast at The Monkey Room today for Peyton's birthday party!!!  And the best part was that I had to do pratically nothing except spend time with my birthday boy.  The cake was awesome and Grammy made delicious finger sandwiches for all the kids and parents.  The kids LOVED Peyton's Thomas The Tank Engine theme and were excited to get their Thomas party favors!  Peyton had a blast climbing everywhere and going up and down the slides and he even (after warming up to the idea) jumped in the inflatable bouncer for a good long while.

After we got home, Grammy and Grand Dad gave their birthday gifts which was a picnic table and a tricycle.  Peyton loves his tricycle!!!!  Nanny will be visiting sometime this weekend with the birthday boy!!  Boy, am I tired!!  But it was a wonderful, wonderful 2nd birthday for my little man!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEYTON!!!
