Going to Church with Mimi and Pawpaw

Today Kevin and I are going to the Saints game, so Peyton is going to visit with Mimi & Pawpaw. Mimi & Pawpaw is going to church this morning so Peyton is going with them. Mom is excited because she has been asking me for months to bring Peyton to church so she can show him off. I guess today is the day! :) When I dressed Peyton up for church, he looked all grown up. Oh my God....I had to hurry up and put a onesie back on him. I am not ready for him to grow up yet!! But he did look absolutely adorable!

Playdate at Texann & Isabelle's

Today we went to Texann & Isabelle's house to play. Isabelle has such neat toys and Peyton really had a great time. Peyton really enjoyed the balls from the ball pit. I will have to put that on the list of Christmas presents!

New Simba Chair

Peyton got a new simba chair. He likes it but doesn't know quite yet how to turn his body to sit in it. For now I have to help him. Sweet boy!!

Paint Playdate at Cherie & Maddie's

Today was a wonderful playdate. Peyton experimented with finger paint for the first time. At first he wanted to eat it! HA! But afters showing him what to do, he caught on and started working on his "masterpiece". Afterwards we dumped the kids in the pool to rinse the paint off. The pool was a little chilly so I dressed Peyton as soon as I got the paint off. He didn't appreciate the dunk too much! It was a fun day and all the kids had a blast.

Angela's Birthday

Yesterday was Angela's birthday. She had plans for yesterday so she came over today to get her gifts and for us to take her out to dinner. We decided to go to Dragos. One of my favorite places to eat! Bummer that they didn't have grilled oysters tonight. :( They gave us some reason why they were not grilling but I can't remember. Dinner was still good though, but missed having the oysters.

Playdate at Chuck E. Cheese's

Today we went to Chuck E. Cheese's. It was okay. I think that mostly everything is a little too old for Peyton right now. He liked the rides okay and he did dig the pizza! :) I think I may wait a couple more months before I return to a playdate at Chuck E. Cheese's. Maybe then Peyton will enjoy it more.

Auburn Vs. Southern Miss

It's game time. And good ole superstitious Daddy made Peyton wear his Auburn jersey for good luck. I don't remember if it worked or not. If I remember correctly the score was 31-13. So I think Auburn may have won this one. I betcha Daddy remembers! :)

What Do You Mean Where's My Cookie??

Peyton has been teething really, really bad the last couple of days. So I got him some teething biscuits. He really likes them, but boy oh boy are they really messy!!! Today he seemed to have lost his cookie. When I asked him where his cookie was, he gave me that look as to say...what do you mean? :)

Visiting Auburn Alabama during Hurricane Gustave

Try to make the best out of an uncomfortable situation, right? Well, that is what we are doing. We traveled to Auburn during the hurricane. Even though it took us 10 hours to get here, Kevin was excited to take Peyton around Auburn University. The pictures of Peyton is at Auburn University and he is wearing his Tiger baby outfit and hat. We shopped and got Auburn T-shirts, a jersey, a Auburn hat and a stuffed Aubie that plays the War Eagle song. There was no limit to buying Auburn stuff when it came to Kevin. Aunt Margaret (even though she is Gator) and Auntie Dawn (LSU) should love Kevin's T-shirt dogging LSU. He had to get it. We heard that they are allowing us back tomorrow. But we are not sure when we will return because we are not looking forward to having no electricity. So, we don't know what we are going to do at this point.

We are also not looking forward to the ride back because Peyton has low tolerance with being in the car seat. On the ride up here he threw up all over the place from being so upset. A friend of mine put in her baby site that her son did the same thing. Personally, I think it is their sneaky little way of getting OUT of the seat. :) I can understand, I was so tired of being in my seat and on the road after hour four.

But once we got here we have been enjoying ourselves. My parents was also up here and we spent a lot of time with them. My mom was in heaven because she had Peyton to herself. She walked around the campground showing him off. I think I may have held him for a total of 5 minutes. Which is okay with me. It was nice to have the extra help. They are on the road right now going home since St. Charles are allowing residence back in. So my help is gone. :( My mom would have stayed as long as we are but my Dad was ready to get back home to access the damage.

UPDATE:
New Orleans residents were allowed back in around 10:00 a.m. yesterday (Wednesday), so we called our house to see if the answering machine picked up if there was power. Once the answering machine picked up, we decide to go ahead and pack and get on the road. We left around 3:00 p.m and arrived home around 9:00 p.m. It was smooth sailing with the traffic and the drive back was not as hard as going up there, but Peyton made it a little rough around hour number three on the road. He finally feel asleep about the hour and a half left mark. It is rough being on the road much less with a baby that hates to be confined. But at least this time he did not throw up all over the place.
