Leaving Town

Well hurricane season has truly begun! We are leaving for Auburn Alabama to get out of Gustave's way. Hopefully everything is okay with the house when we return!

Playdate at Lillians

We headed over to a mom's house, Lillian, for a baby playdate. I was extremely late due to getting lost in Kenner! By the time I found it, very aggravated and mentally tired, mostly everyone had left. Darn! So I hung around with the moms that were there for about an hour then headed back home. So today wasn't much of a playdate for Peyton.

Pucker Up....

My little pucker upper baby! I don't know what starts this face making episodes, but it is so darn cute. I had to pull out the camera and get these little faces on film.

Hey, that's me!

Today Peyton was really cute! He noticed himself for the first time. He kept staring and staring at himself. Then he would laugh and slap at the mirror. Too cute. He must have entertained himself for about 30 minutes.

Swimming Playdate at Cherie & Maddie's

Today there was a swimming playdate fat Cherie and Maddie's house. It was a nice day to swim because it was so HOT! Peyton still is not too sure about the pool, but warmed up to it after a while. Afterwards we went into the pool house and had a light lunch. Then everyone headed back inside to enjoy the cool air conditioner and to let the babies play a little longer.

Mommy's First Moms Night Out (pool party)

Tonight I left baby with Daddy and I enjoyed an evening with other moms from my mommys group. This was a pot luck party so I brought a pasta dish. It was nice to get out for a little while. Kind of refreshing!!! :) But I missed my little honey though.

New Things

Peyton is now saying Mama, Dada and Baba (we say for bottle). Even though he is not really associating these words to Kevin or I yet, it is still cool to hear him say it. Peyton is also eating some table foods and certain snacks such as cherrios and his favorite snack so far are teething cookies to become totally messy with. He is now at the point where he cries if he does not get his way (such as playing with the dog's toys) and scooting has turned into me chasing behind him because he has become so fast with it. He is using his knees more so me thinking he is getting nowhere fast days are gone. He is becoming very affectionate lately and when he turns to me to grab my face and bring his to mine to put his slobbery, wet mouth on my cheek totally melts my heart. Peyton puts his arms up to be held or picked up and squeals in delight when we do. And when he does not want to be held any longer he knows how to straighten his body to slide right off the lap or hip. He absolutely loves his walker. As nervous as it makes me until we get a house that does not have steps everywhere, it is worth sitting on the floor for 30 minutes at guard by the baby gate while he runs across the floor in it as fast as his little legs can go. He is now opening and shutting drawers and cabinets and trying to pull himself up on things (god forbid)! His eyes are turning more blue by the day and his hair is turning more golden brown and curls nicely on top when I put baby lotion or suntain lotion in it. I think he will have little curlies when his becomes a tot and this will make it hard for me to cut his hair. I think curls on a baby is so darn cute! BUT he is still not sleeping through the night. Well, not everything can be perfect!

Our Family Walk

Today we took a walk along the lake. It was a little warm but a very pleasant walk. Afterward Kevin and I stopped and got a Margarita!

First Virus Roseola

Today Peyton had a doctor's appointment. He woke up on Saturday morning with a 100.8 fever and very cranky and he had a fever all that day. Sunday morning he woke up again with fever this time accompanied with a rash. But by Sunday night the fever was pretty much gone. - JUST not the crankiness! According to the doctor, he has a virus (Roseola) that is going around. The doctor told me that this is his first and definitely will not be his last virus since there are so many types. So this weekend I had my first taste of what it is like to care for a sick child. I thought having a newborn was rough!!!The doctor asked me if Peyton was doing okay with sitting upright without me holding him up. I told him not only is he doing fine with this, he is getting in the sitting position on his own. Peyton doesn't need me for this any longer. The doctor looked a little surprised, but impressed and said that most babies do not accomplish that until they are 8 or 9 months. Then he asked if Peyton is pulling up. I laughed and said no, and uhhh, thank god he's not because things are going way too fast for me as it is!!! :)

7 Months

My sweet boy is 7 months today. He is growing so fast. Everyone keeps telling me how tall he is!! Going to be tall like his daddy. He is so adorable. This week we are trying new foods. So far so good. He has been eating what I offer him. My love is a hungry little man.

Blair & Frances' Playdate

Today Peyton went to Blair and Frances' playdate. It was nice getting out of the house. Afterwards I went to my favorite thrift store and picked up some more cool toys for Peyton.

Caught him!

Peyton went down for his 4:00 p.m. nap and woke up about 40 minutes later. I went in to get him and he was sitting up. He sat up in the sitting position on his own!! I had to take a picture to document the occasion. OMG..... We really have to put the mattress down one level now!

Outside Pool Fun

Today Peyton and I had some fun outside in his pool. He is starting to love swimming. We had the best time today just splashing around in the water. I wish the pool was big enough for me. I can only put my feet in it! HA!

Lauren's Birthday Party

Today we went to a friend, Carlos's daughter Lauren's birthday party. Peyton didn't know what to think about the sprinklers. He just kept sitting there and staring at it. Then he started grabbing for the streams of water. It was too funny! We knew a couple of people and their children but it was mostly Lauren's classmates that were there.
