Some Zoo Fun

Today was zoo day for the kids!  We didn't see many animals because the kiddos wanted to swim at Monkey Hill!  So our day consisted of water play, lunch and then more water play, ending with snowballs!  It was a fun!

A Very Friendly Butterfly

This wasn't one of our guys that we just released because he was definately a much bigger butterfly.   I don't know if he was sick or close to the end of his cycle of life, but he sure was super friendly.  He let Peyton and I hold him for a good while before he flew away.  He even let us hold him long enough for me to run for my camera and shoot some pictures!

Release

For school this week, the topic is insects.  Perfect! Peyton brought his butterflies to school for show & tell!  He was so excited!  He is a picture of my big guy about to leave for school.

After school, Peyton and I released our butterflies!  Peyton said "Good bye butterflies.  Go eat some food!"

Mud Man

So after having a full, fun week and weekend, we got kind of bored.  So what can we do that we haven't done in a while?  Play in mud! Peyton and I experimented with making a mudman!  So funny!  Oh.....actually, it is a mudwoman!  It was Peyton's idea to put flowers in her hair!  My boy!  :)

Our Final Little Guy

When we got home from all our Easter fun, we discovered that our last little butterfly guy hatched!  This one was the smallest and obviously the youngest caterpillar in the group, so he was the last to cocoon and the last to hatch.  So now it is close to the time to let them go!

Easter Evening

This evening we went to Grammy and Grand Dad's house for Peyton and Cousin Maddie to do an Easter Egg hunt and then dinner!  The Easter Bunny (aka Mommy/Aunt Connie) brought over baskets filled with toys and candy treats!

Easter Morning

Easter morning Nanny and Uncle Mike came over for brunch.  Nanny brought an Easter basket for Peyton and it was stocked with a new car and lots of candy!  Look at my happy boy's face.  :)  And today we got to meet the new addition to the family, Nola!  (Angela and Mike's dog).  

Coloring Easter Eggs

Bad Mommy!  I forgot to get Easter Egg dye this year!  I went to three different stores and they were sold out.  I couldn't not dye eggs with my baby.  So I did the next best thing.  I bought fresh pain and glitter glue and let my little guy go to town.  He didn't miss a beat!  He loved experimenting with all the colors and glitter.  And his eggs turned out awesome!  But next year, (hopefully) Mommy will be more on the ball.
