Hanging with Thalia

Thalia's Mom and Dad went to the Endymion Ball and parade so we took Thalia for the night.  She is such a little doll and Peyton loves playing with her.  It is so cute watching him take care of Thalia by making sure she safely walked up and down the stairs.

Before taking Thalia home, I threw both kids into the tub.  It is quite evident that Thalia does not take bubble baths.  She was not impressed at all!  She didn't like the bubbles being all over her.  What a little diva!  About 5 minutes later she was ready to get out so I had to quickly wash her.  Peyton, on the other hand, shrugged at Thalia and continued playing with the bubbles until we made him get out.   Ha!  :)

Enjoying the Weather

The weatherman is saying we are going to have bad weather tomorrow and possible the next day, so I wanted to make sure we were out and about while it was nice.  I asked Peyton if he wanted to walk around the neighborhood and take pictures.  He ran to go get his camera!  I swear, I am going to make this little guy a photographer yet!  He is getting really good!  So here is a picture of my boy taking a picture and his photo dump!

Loving Nature

I love Lafreniere Park.  There is so much nature there and the kids love looking around to see what they can find!  The weather was absolutely beautiful!  I know I mention this ALL the time but I love hanging out with the girls and all the kids!

How Sweet!

My sweet boy ran out of the school doors with a smile on his face and his Valentine Present in hand! So cute! Happy Valentine's Day my honey. I love you more than words could ever express!

Our Valentine's Day - Part 3

When Kevin came home we had my favorite dish, Oyster Brie Soup.  This dish is such a comfort food.  If it wasn't so darn expensive to make (and so high in calories), I would make it all the time.  But it is nice to save it for special occasions such as today.   But boy, was it was yummy!  After dinner, Kevin wanted to go bowling as a family.  I had plans to stay in but decided that bowling sounded fun  and it would be fun to bowl with Peyton for the first time.  Peyton, on the other hand, had a different idea.  My son, being my son, does not walk into a new situation with bells on his toes.  If he hasn't tried it before, he's not game.  This attitude, way of thinking, fear, or whatever it is like a doubled edged sword.  At least I know that maybe, just maybe he will think before doing something stupid, but at the same time, it is a pain in the arse to get him to try new things without a fight.  I mean, what's so scary about bowling?  Well, for some reason Peyton thought it was scary.  And he put up a fight with tears, tantrums....the whole works to get us to stay home.  I was more determined than ever to go for two reasons.  First, if we gave in and stayed home, he would think that there was really something to fear and 2) well, I wasn't about to let him dictate in anyway the decisions of what we do as a family.   So off we went.  When we got there Peyton was mad.  He wanted nothing to do with bowling and sat across the room away from us.  I finally talked him into sitting next to us with a promise that we would not make him bowl.  But I could see, even though he did not think I could, that he was itching to play.  Eventually, he couldn't take it any longer and wanted his turn!  :)  And he had a blast!

See Peyton, my love, Mommy would never let anything bad happen to you.  It's always great to try new things.  I admire that you have to think and observe and think some more before you participate in anything, but as long as you understand that it is okay to take a chance with something new once in a while.  As long as it is safe and reasonable.  You never know, you just might like it!

After bowling, we headed home to exchange our cards, candy and Peyton's gifts.  Our Valentine's Day was different with bowling but I have to say that I really enjoyed our family time together tonight.

Our Valentine's Day - Part 2

So after visiting the grand parents we come home to find Zack crouched by his bed with the most guilty look on his face.  "What did you do Zack?"  I asked.  I went into the kitchen to find out.  I wish I had a picture of my face at that moment.  Our puppy got a hold of Peyton's school candy and undoubtedly had a ball with it.  It was all.over.the.place!  The best part was that the candy was in a big bag that was sitting on the kitchen table.  He jumped on the table, knocked the bag off, got ALL of the candy out and somehow got the bag back in the upright position.  Seriously??  He just got over an upset tummy two weeks ago.  Luckily for him and us, there wasn't much chocolate in the bag.  But he had a heck of a time searching for the chocolate.  He truly acts like we are neglecting his daily meals.   Peyton was mad at Zack too but fortunately he wasn't upset.  He knew he was getting more candy later so he just fussed at Zack and went back to playing with his trucks.   What a bad dog!!!  He better be glad that we love him so much.

Our Valentine's Day - Part 1

This morning Peyton had his Valentine's Day School party.  He was pretty excited (whew, finally no tears) that he was going to come home with candy!  He was so proud of his stash when I picked him up.  He had the biggest smile on his face.  But he really smiled when I showed him his flowers that he was going to  give his teachers.  He thought he was hot stuff giving the teachers flowers in front of all the other kids!!  :)  But ahhhh, I was so busy getting the flowers together that I missed out on the pictures of Peyton handing the flowers over, but trust me when I say that it was adorable!

After dropping the candy off at the house, we surprised Grammy and Grand Dad with flowers and candy.  :)  Then we hung around to have some lunch with them.  Peyton loves seeing his Grammy and Grand Dad!!  A couple of hours later we headed back home before the traffic got too bad crossing the River.  Peyton and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day morning!!!
